Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
the next STUVA conference, the International Forum on Tunnels and Infrastructure, is scheduled for 24-26 November 2021 at the Karlsruhe Exhibition Centre.
In the meantime, there are more concrete indications about the vaccination and testing activities to be expected this year and the resulting positive perspectives.
Nevertheless, even at this point in time (mid-April 2021) it is not yet possible to make a final decision on holding a STUVA conference and the STUVA expo in the familiar and proven form. As the "family reunion of the tunnel industry", both the STUVA conference and the STUVA expo are characterised by the personal encounters, the mutual exchange and the shared experience. A purely digital version of the event is therefore not planned.
Intensive discussions with some of our exhibitors have shown us that the majority, and especially the cost-intensive part, of the measures demanded to hold a successful trade fair require a lead time of approx. 3-4 months. Therefore, it is not necessary to make a decision on the realisation of the STUVA conference and the STUVA expo already today. The STUVA Board therefore decided at its last meeting to continue with the planning.
Taking into account the current political requirements and the developing vaccination situation, a decision on the organisation of the STUVA Conference and STUVA Expo should be taken, if possible, at the beginning of July 2021; at the latest, however, the final decision on the organisation or cancellation will be taken at the beginning of August. We will announce the result here.
The STUVA conference is one of the most important forums for the whole underground sector. With most recently more than 3,800 experts from over 20 countries, it is one of the world's leading and largest events in the tunnel sector and brings together the entire value chain of the tunnel industry for professional exchange. The traditional festive evening on the first day of the STUVA conference has become one of the absolute highlights of the event in recent years. You too can meet with your business partners in a pleasant atmosphere.
The lectures are bilingual throughout (simultaneous translation German/English) and will be held on 24 and 25 November. Parallel to the lecture series on "Tunnel Construction", lectures on "Tunnel Operation/Planning" will be presented in a separate hall.
STUVA conferences help to sharpen the view on the future of our industry anew. Nothing has changed in this respect to date. So join us in looking forward to exciting specialist lectures and innovative products at the accompanying STUVA Expo. Team up with STUVA to shape the mobility of the future - ecologically sensible and humane! We cordially invite you to join us!
