Call for papers starts end of November/beginning of December 2022

Now it is less than a year until the STUVA conference starts in Munich. In 2023, the world's largest trade fair for underground space will take place from 8 to 10 November, almost a month earlier than usual. So it's high time for the conference team to ask the STUVA members for presentation proposals.

In the next few days, at the latest at the beginning of December, all STUVA members will receive mail from the conference team. The call for papers marks the start of the hot phase of preparation for the STUVA conference 2023. As usual, STUVA members have the right to submit paper proposals for the STUVA conference first. The Call for Papers will therefore be sent exclusively to members of STUVA e. V. and only to the nominated member representative in each case; unless one has also expressed interest. All staff members of our members are then invited to submit interesting topics and we rely on the Call for Papers being distributed by the member representatives within the company. If you do not know who the designated member representative is at your company, simply contact us directly. The lecture series is divided into two segments, "Tunnel Construction" and "Tunnel Operation/Planning", with a total of more than 60 technical presentations. The specialist lectures can be on the following topics, for example: Current developments in underground construction, Major international projects, Safety in the construction and operation of tunnels, Exploration, planning, construction, New guidelines and regulations, Innovative safety concepts, Safety equipment, Retrofitting, Modernisation, Risk management, Tunnel management, Preservation, Rehabilitation, Research, Mechanised tunnelling, Construction methods in difficult ground, Sustainability, Energy generation and use, Economic efficiency, Contract design, Financing, Tunnel control technology, Behaviour of road users, Lighting and escape guidance systems, Fire protection, Fire detection. As we provide simultaneous translation, we are also happy to accept presentations from English-speaking speakers.

Proposal deadline until 31.01.2023

If you are interested in contributing to the STUVA conference with a presentation, we kindly ask you to submit a presentation proposal online by 31.01.2023 (for details, please see the Call for Papers). The conference programme will be compiled from the submitted proposals by an external selection committee and finally approved by the STUVA board. Since experience shows that more papers are submitted than can be presented in the time available, we ask for your understanding that not all proposals may be considered. Interested persons will be notified of the outcome of the consultation by mid-May 2023.

Contribution for conference proceedings by 10.07.2023

As the STUVA conference will take place about 3 weeks earlier than in previous years, the contributions for the conference proceedings with about 17,000 characters must also be completed earlier. The deadline for this is 10.07.2023.

Young Forum

Since 2010, we have been giving the young generation of tunnellers the opportunity to convey the fascination of tunnelling in the "Young Forum". For this purpose, we are looking for young, highly qualified engineers or employees from all specialist fields of tunnel construction and the associated operation of corresponding transport facilities aged between about 30 and 35. The participants in the "Young Forum" should already have gained initial experience in practice or science and be able to report on current new developments in their respective fields. From the proposals submitted, about five will be selected for the "Young Forum" lecture event. The winner of the STUVA Young Scientist Award will be chosen from these presentations. The award ceremony will take place during the festive evening event.

This time earlier than usual: The STUVA Conference 2023 will already take place from 08 to 10 November 2023. The venue is the ICM in Munich.
As a speaker at STUVA, you can be sure: There will be plenty of expert audiences.
Casual professional exchange in a relaxed atmosphere. The STUVA conference offers countless opportunities for contact with partners and customers.
