STUVA Conference planned as a face-to-face event

The decision has been made: Thanks to the well advanced vaccination campaign against the coronavirus, the "family reunion of the tunnel industry", the STUVA conference with accompanying trade exhibition (STUVA-Expo), is to take place as a presence event in the usual manner from November 24 to 26, 2021 at the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Center.

"Of course, we will carefully monitor the further development of the pandemic and observe the official requirements during the implementation. We may have to put up with some restrictions in the process, but the opportunity for the long-awaited personal exchange will certainly outweigh these," says Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Ziegler, Chairman of the STUVA Board.  The STUVA conference is exactly the right place for personal exchange among each other; it represents one of the most important forums for the entire field of underground space. With more than 3,800 professionals from over 20 countries at last count, it is one of the world's leading and largest events in the tunnel sector, bringing together the entire value chain of the tunnel industry for professional exchange. As the "family reunion of the tunnel industry", both STUVA Conference and STUVA Expo are characterized by the personal encounters, the mutual exchange and the shared experience. The traditional festive evening on the first day of the STUVA conference has become an absolute highlight of the event in recent years, where business partners meet in a pleasant atmosphere. The lecture events are bilingual throughout (simultaneous translation German/English) and will take place on November 24 and 25. Parallel to the lecture series "Tunneling", lectures on "Tunnel Operation/Planning" will be presented in a separate hall.

"The STUVA conference comes at exactly the right time for this. Truly revolutionary changes lie ahead of our industry in the coming years. The goal of complete climate neutrality by 2045 alone will lead to a fundamental change in drive technologies and to revolutionary changes in the infrastructure. Who, if not we engineers, should ensure that these goals can also be implemented technically?" states the managing director of STUVA Prof. Dr.-Ing. Roland Leucker.

Ziegler adds, "Look forward to over 60 cutting-edge and exciting technical presentations and the numerous innovative products at the accompanying STUVA-Expo."  Let's find the right ways to shape our world sustainably in a joint dialog! And join us in looking forward to the long-awaited personal reunion with colleagues and friends at the world's leading industry meeting for tunnel construction and operation. We cordially invite you to join us!"

Safety first

Great importance is attached to the safety of exhibitors, conference participants and visitors. Therefore, the so-called "3-G rule" applies to access to the STUVA Expo and the STUVA Conference. This means that only persons who are either fully vaccinated or recovered or who have tested negative for coronavirus (according to CoronaVO Baden-Württemberg of 25.06.2021) will be granted access to the event. Therefore, it is strongly recommended for participation to be vaccinated in time to ensure full protection before the event. Otherwise, non-vaccinated persons should get tested before arrival. A test center will be set up on site as a fallback level Information on further measures, such as the hygiene concept valid for the event, will be announced at www.stuva.conference.com and at www.stuva-expo.de. Information on possible entry restrictions to Germany can be found on the website of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, for Building and Home Affairs
