H: Hamburg Port logistics
The Port of Hamburg functions as a strategically important logistics hub with Europe-wide significance, in particular as Germany’s “gateway to the world” for the economy and neighbouring countries. Approximately 500 companies are based in the port area, and around 156,000 jobs in the Hamburg metropolitan region depend on the port, with logistics playing a key role. A 2.5-hour expert-led tour focuses on the complex logistics processes involving some 5,700 logistics firms every day. The bus tour showcases highlights such as the historic Speicherstadt, HafenCity, various project cargo, general cargo, bulk and grab cargo terminals, a terminal visit, and various industrial facilities.
