C: Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link

The Fehmarnbelt Tunnel is an 18-kilometre road and rail tunnel currently under construction beneath the Baltic Sea. It will connect the German island of Fehmarn with the Danish island of Lolland, providing a crossing of the Fehmarnbelt. Once completed, the Fehmarnbelt Tunnel will be the longest immersed tunnel in the world. As the longest combined tunnel for both road and rail, it will include a four-lane motorway and a double-track, electrified railway line. The tunnel is being built from 79 concrete elements and 10 additional special elements that also contain an underfloor level for technical installations. These elements, measuring up to 217 metres in length, are being manufactured at a dedicated facility near Rødbyhavn and will be submerged onto the seabed.

Guided tour in German only.
