STUVA Conference 2019 in Frankfurt am Main
There are many good reasons for attending the STUVA conference: For example, the STUVA-Expo trade exhibition accompanying the conference with around 200 exhibiting companies on 7,000 square metres or the large festive evening on the first day as well as the construction site and company tours on the third day. All this together will certainly offer one thing again in 2019: the very special STUVA conference experience. Probably nowhere else can industry contacts be made in such a pleasant and effective way as at the "Tunnel Industry Family Reunion".
Call for Papers to STUVA Members
The "Call for Papers" was already sent to STUVA members at the beginning of December 2018. One focus of the lectures this year will of course be the construction measures in the host city Frankfurt am Main. After all, the Hessian metropolis is in the process of giving itself a new face with its "new old town" DomRömer, the Europaviertel and the numerous traffic infrastructure measures and is therefore one of the German cities with the most lively construction activity. This year, too, the circle of speakers is basically limited to STUVA members. But even this reduced group of people will again receive more interesting and qualified topic proposals than would fit into the conference programme with the best will in the world, so that a selection has to be made by the scientific programme advisory board. So let's look forward to a full programme of lectures together! The lectures will again cover the entire spectrum of underground construction: For the two lecture series Tunnel Construction and Tunnel Operation: Current developments in underground construction, major international projects, exploration, planning, construction, new guidelines and regulations, safety concepts, safety equipment, retrofitting, modernization, risk management, tunnel management, research, machine driving, construction methods in difficult subsoil, sustainability, energy generation and use, economic efficiency, contract design, financing, tunnel control technology, road users' behaviour, lighting and escape control systems, fire protection.
Since 2010, young talents from the tunnel industry have had the opportunity in the "Young Forum" not only to speak to the numerous experts at the plenum of the STUVA conference, but also to win the attractive STUVA Young Talent Award. The award ceremony will take place as part of the festive evening event. What is new this year is that the STUVA Young Talent Initiative YEP, which was founded at the STUVA Conference 2017, was completely included in the application process.
